A half-gill Imperial Capacity bronze standard measure made by Young & Son, Bear Street, London c1840 their details to foot rim. Engraved to mid body with “New South Wales”, and "Impl. Half Gill" (NSW legislated to have Imperial Standard measures on 24.8.1832). The British Exchequer seal (chequerboard mark) on rim opposite a crowned “VR” verification, plus a worn circular mark. This is the left hand measure whose matching gill is seen, and is also for sale. In excellent as new condition. 2” tall, with 2” rim and base diameters. 186g weight. REF: P2003
