½-pint double volute baluster measure with no maker's or verification marks.  C-curve handle with ball terminal and lower lozenge attachment has a well decorated double volute thumbpiece.  There is a fleur-de-lys attachment to the lid, which has two concentric incised lines.  The body is plain.  Dating c1770-90.  Obviously made in a hurry as the casting of the fleur de lys, and the upper handle attachment show sprue.  Otherwise in excellent condition, with light-medium grey original surface patina.  Capacity is ½-pint Old English Wine Standard.  5” overall height, 4” to rim.  400g weight.  REF: C3285
