½-pint double volute baluster measure with no maker's mark dating c1770-90.  Pre-Imperial verification mark to front of rim for the City of Westminster.  C-curve handle with double volute thumbpiece, unusual hooded ball terminal, and lower lozenge attachment.  There is a fleur-de-lys attachment to the lid, which has two concentric incised lines.  The body is plain.  Lovely turning lines under the lid.  In excellent condition, with light grey OSP.  Capacity is ½-pint Old English Wine Standard.  5” overall height, 4” to rim, with 2⅝” base diameter.  468g weight.  REF: C3267
