Quart dome lid pewter tulip tankard lacking a maker mark, but its form and other details suggest a dating of c1750-75. Medium dome lid has a keeper ring with oozy tongue and pip below the draped chairback thumbpiece with heart-shaped cut-out and 5-part hinge with brass hinge pin. The tulip shaped plain body with hollow C-curve handle, and substantial hooded ball terminal. In excellent condition, with light-medium grey original surface patina, and nice turning lines under the base and inside the lid. Capacity is one Ale quart (OEAS) = 40.1 fl oz. 7¾" overall height, 6⅛" to rim, with 4⅝" base diameter. 977g weight. REF: P1768
