A very attractive small pewter flagon made by Johann Georg Marx of Nuremburg c1745-72 his marks under the lid and on upper back of handle. Large engraving to mid body of a dove over a crest with stylised floral decorations to both sides of the crest. Formerly in the collection of Ken Barkin (USA). In superb condition. 7¾” tall and 6¼” to lip, with mouth and base diameters of 3¾” and 4½”. 1062g weight. REF: P1850
