Attractive biscuit barrel or ice bucket by Orivit with their mark and pattern number 2319 under the base. Orivit was a major German manufacturer who from 1896 began to produce luxury items using their own alloy mix, which gives a richer and brighter pewter, that if well polished looks like silver. By 1905 the Company was taken over by WMF another famous German metalware company who continued producing items with the Orivit name until 1914. In excellent condition.
