A matching pair of Scottish pewter semi-narrow rim single reeded edge plates. Superbly made with hammered bouge, but sadly are unmarked. The plates have good detailing including fine turning lines to face and reverse, and a raised bead to reverse edge of rim. Feint incised line to edge of shallow bowl of the plates, and are engraved in the Scottish style with ownership initials 'PA' over 'MS' to the reverse. Attribution to Scottish manufacture based on weight, appearance, form of finish, and lettering. 8⅝" diameter with 1" wide rim. 368g and 391g weight. REF: C3723
