Matching pair of centilitre and double centilitre French pewter lidless measures made by the unidentified pewterer J.R whose mark is under both bases. Each is verified to the upper front of the body, and also on the top of the vertical part of the handle. The body form and handle are typical of this type of measure made during the 19th century in several provincial French towns. The larger measure is 2" tall, and the smaller is 1⅝". 64g and 42g weight. REF: C2629
