Rare American pewter quart mug made by Parks Boyd, Philadelphia 1795-1819, his mark inside the base. Ownership initials IP scratch engraved under the base, which has lovely lathe turning marks. In very good condition apart from a slight dent to the outer face of the handle. Provenance: from the collection of the late Eugene and Marilyn Porter of Minnesota who bought the mug from Thomas and Constance Williams, CT for $3200. Capacity is 33.8 fl oz. 5½" tall. REF: P1855.
