Rare mid-18th century French pewter spirits measure from Rouen, but lacking a maker mark. Ownership or verification initials L and R to lid. A lidded baluster measure with the typical features of the Rouen form: wedge on lid in front of bar thumbpiece, solid strap handle with scroll terminal, and paired incised lines to body. In excellent condition, with a few minor dings to edge of lid, mid-body and footrim. Capacity is 60ml. 3⅞" overall height and 3⅛" to rim, with 1⅝ " diameter base; 203g weight.
