Very rare Scots capacity cup, which although unmarked is very similar to two marked ones - one by William Reid of Edinburgh (sold by Bonhams, Chester 4.5.2006 Lot 28), and another by David Scouler of Glasgow (Fig 10.16 Scottish Pewter). This is a rare object regardless of its origin, as pre-Imperial capacity beaker/cups are very scarce. In very good used condition, with lovely light-medium grey original surface patina, and nice turning lines under the base. Capacity: 8 fl oz. 3⅝” high, with 3" mouth and 2” base diameters. 198g weight.  This is the largest beaker in the group photo of three similar beakers, of which the other two are also for sale.  REF: C3523
